Six Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) have been notified in the Borough under Section 28 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, as follows.
| (i) Crofton Woods: | off Crofton Road, including Crofton Heath, Sparrow Wood, Gumping Common and Roundabout Wood |
| (ii) Downe Bank and High Elms: | off High Elms Road and Hangrove Hill, Downe |
| (iii) Keston and Hayes Commons: | off Baston Road, Westerham Road and Heathfield Road, Keston |
| (iv) Elmstead Pits: | rear of 41 Elmstead Lane, Bromley |
| (v) Ruxley Gravel Pits: | south of Sidcup Bypass and east of Sevenoaks Way, St Paul's Cray |
| (vi) Saltbox Hill: | off Saltbox Hill, Biggin Hill |
