There are several ways to find information on this website.

Homepage

All the navigation and search facilities are available here. Special features on the home page that give direct links to information are:

topbox - click on the image in the top right-hand corner of the homepage to see more information.
quick links - a list of frequently requested pages
news - three recent news stories can be accessed directly, all news items can be found by selecting the News heading.
what's on - details of four current events can be accessed directly; all others are found by selecting the What's On heading.
hyperlinks from text - summaries give direct links to pages giving full information.
header tabs (apply, pay, book and report it) give direct access to our online services pages.

Search

The search box is on the top right of all pages. Work is under way to make this search facility more responsive to users' needs.

To use: type in the word or words you are looking for and hit Go.

This will list cases of the word or words appearing in page titles, main text and attached documents.

Tips

check you have the correct spelling
try synonyms and variation of words, for example: CDROM, CD-ROM, CD ROM

Navigation

The listing on the left-hand side shows the main channels (e.g. Environment). When you click on the appropriate one, sub-channels under it (e.g. Planning) are displayed; these are indented slightly in the listing. If you select these any further sub-channels (e.g. Planning Appeals) are displayed underneath.

A - Z

This is the second item on the header line. It contains a comprehensive list of subjects that reflects the printed A – Z of Council Services. You can follow a link from any item listed here to the specific page or pages.

Site Map

This is the last item listed along the header line. The main channels and the sub-channels are listed here and you can follow a link from each one to the correct section of the website.
