The Council switchboard and Customer Contact Centre in the Civic Centre is open between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday - and deals with all calls to the main council number - 020 8464 3333. When this is closed and you have an emergency, you can contact:

Emergency Duty Team

The emergency duty team is available between 5.30pm and 8.30am Monday to Friday and 5.30pm Friday to 8.30am Monday.

In an emergency call 999. All 999 calls are free and can be made from any phone, including mobiles. All 999 calls are recorded and you are breaking the law if you make a hoax emergency call.

Gas

If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak, or are worried that fumes containing carbon monoxide are escaping from a gas appliance, call National Grid (formerly Transco) immediately.
