Coaching for high growth scheme
Following the successful ‘Business Growth’ scheme, which ran from 2007 to 2009 and benefited nearly 60 local businesses, Bromley Council has again joined with Business Focus to provide a new, improved version, entitled High Growth Coaching.
Businesses based within the London Borough of Bromley, established for at least 18 months and employing between 3 and 100 staff could be eligible for subsidised places on the scheme, which will provide up to two days of business support, including a needs analysis, development of a growth action plan and expert advice to help overcome barriers to growth. Thanks to sponsorship from Bromley Council, the cost for participation in the scheme has been kept much lower than the usual cost of business consultancy.
A participant in the original ‘Business Growth’ scheme, Alison Steward, Managing Director of Pad Creative, said, “The help provided by Business Focus as part of the scheme was invaluable in planning for growth and providing some sound advice, particularly on human resource issues. As a result we have already experienced real growth, and now have robust internal systems in place to help us grow even more, when the upturn comes.”
The High Growth Coaching scheme will provide specialist advisers to help tackle key business issues, including marketing and sales, human resources, financial management, innovation and IT. Businesses enrolling on the scheme will benefit from the fact that the support can be delivered over a period of up to 6 months, so that they can draw on expertise as and when they need it, to help them implement their business development plan. High Growth Coaching participants could also potentially benefit from a number of other funded or subsidised business support schemes currently being delivered by Business Focus.
