Use this guide if you would like to complain regarding the service you have received from the Business Rates Department.
Stage 1
If you would like to complain regarding the service you have received from the Business Rates department then please write to:

One of our team leaders will answer your letter within five working days from the date we receive it. Please head your letter 'complaint' so we can use the correct procedure to deal with it.
Stage 2
If you are still unhappy with the response you have received after stage 1 then please write to:

Stage 3
If you are still unhappy after the stage 2 investigation, you can contact the Chief Executive, who will review the complaint.
Local Government Ombudsman
The Local Government Ombudsman is an independent service, which investigates complaints of maladministration against Councils. You can complain to the Local Government Ombudsman at any time, but he will usually ask the Council to investigate the matter first if it has not already gone through our complaint procedure.
