The Bromley Children Project works closely with parents, carers, children and young people. By listening carefully and trying to understand any difficulties, workers and families work together to find ways to make problems more manageable.
Funding from the Children's Fund is enabling the Bromley Children Project to offer specialist help for children aged 4-13 and their families, through our team of Bromley Children Project Specialist Workers:
- Child Mental Health Workers help with emotional or behavioural problems.
- The Dietician works with children and families, helping them to understand and explore healthy eating options.
- The Disability Support Worker works with families where there is a disability or special need and particularly closely with the Bromley Parent Partnership.
- The Moving on to Secondary School Co-ordinator arranges activities and information to help with the change from Primary to Secondary schools, and manages the Choice Advisers.
- Speech and Language Therapists mainly work with groups of children to help their language and communication skills, and train teachers and classroom assistants in Speech and Language Therapy methods and techniques.
