The Council is composed of 60 councillors elected every four years; each represents an area called a ward (most of which are represented by more than one councillor). The overriding duty of councillors is to the whole borough community, but they have a special duty to their constituents, whether they voted for them or not.

You may want to contact your councillor because you have concerns about broader local issues or things the Council is doing; you may also want to talk to them to get advice or assistance in pursuing a particular issue or problem.
