Borough council elections are held every four years. However, local by-elections and London-wide elections also take place, and a general election could be called at any time - so it is important that you register to vote and keep your details up to date on the electoral register  to make sure you do not lose your vote.

Local council elections 

Local Council Elections are held every four years and the next one will be on 6 May 2010.

General elections

General elections are held every five years (or sooner if the Prime Minister chooses). The next one must take place by 3 June 2010.

European elections

European elections are held every five years the last one took place on 4 June 2009.
