The Support to Schools team is made up of a Counselling team and an Outreach team. Both are managed by the Leader, Support-to-Schools.
Next Step/Contact
Counselling packages may be purchased by schools by directly contacting the Co-ordinator of the Counselling Team. These packages are tailored to meet the requirements of the school and are charged at a different rate according to the actual service required. A counsellor will work for a specific time allocation each week over the year, ranging from a minimum package of two hours per week, up to six hours (one day per week). For more information refer to the Counselling Traded Services leaflets 2006-2007.
The Outreach team advisers are available to offer advice, support and training in order to help schools understand and manage pupil behaviour as effectively as possible. Advisers maintain close links with partner agencies and can work with teaching and non-teaching staff, parents/carers and pupils, both individually and in groups.
To access support from this team the school’s Lead Behaviour Professional should complete the Behaviour Service Referral Form and forward it to the Behaviour Service at Kingswood. Each case is discussed at the weekly Core Panel meeting and allocated to the appropriate team member.
