A team of teachers and support assistants work closely with schools, Traveller families, The Bromley Gypsy Traveller Project and other professionals to ensure that Traveller children make the most of their educational opportunities. The team supports mobile and housed Travellers and fairground and circus families in primary and secondary Bromley schools.

All Bromley schools can access support from the Traveller Education Service for their Traveller pupils.
Details
Traveller support teachers and assistants work in partnership with teachers, schools and families.
The team:
- works in various ways according to the needs of the children and schools involved, e.g. class support, intensive literacy/numeracy support, support for transfer to secondary school;
- with Connexions, advises students involved in further education;
- offers pastoral and behavioural support for schools and families;
- advises parents on school procedures/admissions/exclusions/statements and reviews of SEN;
- has a range of cultural resources for loan to schools;
- will provide training to schools on raising awareness of Traveller culture and issues.
