Bromley Adult Learning Consortium (BALC) includes the Borough’s three Colleges - Bromley Adult Education College, Bromley College of Further and Higher Education and Orpington College - together with Bromley LEA, and is an excellent example of effective partnership and close collaboration. It meets regularly throughout the year to plan learning pathways and progression routes between the Colleges and holds an annual conference in March. Whilst each College has its own mission statement and distinctive character, the production of this document shows how much can be achieved by working together to meet local needs.

Bromley Adult Learning Consortium (BALC) has produced a prospectus showing who is doing what in adult learning terms in Bromley. Aimed at key stakeholders, local businesses and voluntary sector organisations, the prospectus will be launched during national Adult Learner’s Week in May.

The new prospectus demonstrates that the Consortium runs thousands of courses for more than 30,000 local people each year, and includes a chart to illustrate the huge range of subjects and levels offered by the three Colleges, together with contact points for more detailed enquiries.
