Co-ordinated Secondary Admissions - Offers of Places 2010
Can I collect the letter from the Civic Centre?
We are unable to give out letters in person and they must be posted to your home address. This is to ensure letters are only opened by the child’s parent or legal carer. Offers will be posted first class on Monday 1 March 2010. Online applicants can login to collect email notification of offer from 7.00am on 2 March.
If I telephone, can you tell me what the letter says?
Our Admissions Team will be unable to divulge the contents of the offer letter over the telephone. This is in order to protect your child by ensuring the information is only given to the person authorised to receive it.
If I don't receive my letter on Tuesday 2 March, can you post another one out?
Duplicate letters will only be sent by the Local Authority on Friday 5 March. This is to allow for any reasonable delays with the postal service.
How long do we have to reply to the offer?
The deadline for responses is Monday 15 March. Reply slips can be accepted at the Education enquiries desk at the Civic Centre reception. You will be issued with a receipt, stamped with the date, to show it has been received.
What will happen if I do not want to accept the place offered to me?
If you refuse the offer you may leave your child without a school place. Although your child's name will remain on the waiting list at Bromley schools of a higher preference, there is no guarantee that a place will become available. We cannot process your refusal of an offered place until we have received written notification stating where you have secured an alternative school place. You can accept an offer but still remain on waiting lists and keep your right of appeal.
When will I hear if I can be offered a place from the waiting list?
A very small number of places will become available to be re-offered to the waiting lists from April. If you have not received an offer of a school listed higher on your application, your child's name will remain on the waiting list(s) for the relevant Bromley school(s).
What if I want to appeal?
Appeals are organised by the schools themselves. A list of all schools, with their contact details, will be sent with offer letters and spare copies will be available at the Education enquiries desk at the Civic Centre reception.
What if I have any further questions?
