Consultation
Proposal to Amalgamate Biggin Hill Infant and Junior Schools
Decision
Having considered the outcomes from consultation, Members of Bromley Council's Executive agreed at their meeting on 2 April 2007 to amalgamate Biggin Hill Infant and Junior Schools to create a new all-through (ages 5-11) primary school from 1 January 2008, which would admit 60 pupils at Reception.
Both schools are currently organised to admit up to 90 pupils a year, but neither school has reached this level for a number of years now. Admissions of around 60 pupils have been the norm in recent years. This brings with it budget problems as schools are funded on pupil numbers.
