The timetable for the consultation and decision making processes is as follows:

25 March 2008

 -  Approval from Children and Young People Portfolio Holder to consult
By end April 2008     -  Distribution of consultation leaflet to all stakeholders: consultation
commences
May 2008  - Consultation meetings (parents/carers, staff and public)
6 June 2008  -  Deadline for receipt of consultation responses at Bromley Council
Mid-June 2008           - Meetings of Governing Bodies to review outcomes of consultation
14 July 2008  - Report to Children and Young People Portfolio Holder
21 July 2008  -    Report to Bromley Council’s Executive, seeking a decision on whether or not to amalgamate the two schools to form a new primary school.

 
 If proposal to amalgamate approved:

August 2008  - Preparation of Statement of Case and Public Notice
September 2008        - Publication of Notice and Statement of Case - respondents have six weeks to respond in writing to the Notice
Mid-October
2008
- End of six weeks’ response period. If no responses, Bromley Council will proceed with amalgamation and the opening of a new primary school. If written representations are received, the issue is referred to the Schools’ Adjudicator for a decision.



Note: The public may attend any of the above meetings to observe the scrutiny and decision-making process. Meeting start times are as follows:

Questions can be submitted in writing to the Director of Legal and Democratic Services at Bromley Council by 10.00am on the working day before the date of the meeting.
