This analysis of school performance contributes to the annual evaluation of Bromley's Education Development Plan.

The report draws from:

the results of Foundation Stage assessment undertaken at the end of the reception year, National Curriculum tasks and tests carried out at the end of Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, and GCSE and GCE-A level examinations;
comparisons with validated national results and the results of similar LEAs where they are available;
reports of Ofsted inspections during the period September 2003 to August 2004;
evaluation of the impact of national strategies made by Senior Education Advisers and strategy consultants in their work with schools.
