A 'clean and green' Bromley is one of the main reasons people enjoy living or working in the borough. About half the borough's land is green belt so protecting this now, and for future generations, is a top priority.

As a Council we operate a comprehensive door-to-door recycling collection and promote waste minimisation through our real nappy reward scheme and home composting offer.

We care for trees and maintain over 150 parks and open spaces  throughout the borough . The Bromley Environmental Education Centre at High Elms (BEECHE) is our new education centre for members of the public and school groups to learn more about the environment.

Residents can help us by making sure they participate in our recycling service and by thinking about how they can become more energy efficient. You could also think about joining one of our 30 Friends of parks groups.

Our enviro-crime reward scheme encourages members of the public to report dumped cars, graffiti and flytipping in order to keep our streets clean and safe.

Our annual Environment Awards are designed to recognise the tremendous effort some of our residents put in to protecting the environment.
