The Council wishes to recognise those citizens who have contributed to the world around them. It is recognised that the plaques contribute to the creation of a `sense of place` in the specific local communities which make up the London Borough of Bromley and portrays the considerable historic connections which the Borough has with the arts, sciences, professions, social sciences and history.
