Details

Giving up smoking at any age can be beneficial. Stopping smoking increases your life expectancy and provides you with an improved quality of life and healthier lifestyle. Many people try to give up smoking on their own but with the right kind of help and support you can quadruple your chances of quitting successfully.

Bromley Stop Smoking Service offers FREE group support, individual support and advice on using Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), Bupropion (Zyban) and Varenicline (Champix).

NRT products like patches and gum can help you cope with withdrawal from cigarettes whilst you learn new habits and coping strategies. NRT is supplied at the groups at prescription charge.

The groups are run by specialists in smoking cessation and they enable those who want to stop smoking to support one another and share their experiences. Groups are held in local venues and are FREE to participants.

A one-to-one service is also offered at local GP practices, pharmacies and hospital settings.

A self referral form can be downloaded here or you can call Bromley's Stop Smoking Service on 0800 587 8821. Further information is available from Bromley Primary Care Trust.
