The central safety unit is based at the Civic Centre in Bromley. We give advice and general information on health and safety matters to council managers, staff and others.
Eligibility
We can help you if your enquiry is related to a health and safety matter associated with premises or activities owned and/or managed by Bromley Council or you are an employee or contractor working for Bromley.
If you have had an accident on the road or pavement (not a road traffic accident), you can report it online.
If your enquiry or complaint is about a commercial premise, shop or business within the borough please contact our health and safety unit.

Details
The central safety unit carries out safety inspections and investigations in council owned and managed premises to ensure that risks to staff and service users are properly controlled. This includes members of the public affected by the Council's activities.
We cover all community and voluntary-controlled schools and a number of voluntary aided and foundation schools. We do not cover independent schools.
We also cover sheltered housing, homes for the elderly, day centres, parks, leisure centres, open spaces, libraries and work in progress on highways and footpaths maintained by Bromley. This includes all Council buildings plus the waste transfer stations at Waldo Road and Churchfields Road.
Along with council managers, we investigate accidents and complaints relating to health and safety matters on council owned and managed premises.
We also manage the Council's occupational health unit, which provides a full occupational health service for the Council as an employer.
Cost
There is no direct cost for this internal service subject to eligibility.
