The following checklist should be used in conjunction with the application for advertisement consent.

You may be required to produce a Design and Access Statement to accompany your application.  Further information on applying for planning permission and planning application forms is available here.

Please ensure you have met the following requirements before submitting your application:

  • Completed form (4 copies to be supplied unless the application is submitted online via the Planning Portal website)
  • A plan which identifies the land to which the application relates drawn to an identified scale, identifies the location of the site by reference to at least two named roads, identifies the proposed position of the advertisement and shows the direction of North (4 copies to be supplied unless the application is submitted online via the Planning Portal website)
  • A copy of other plans and drawings or information necessary to describe the subject of the application (4 copies to be supplied unless the application is submitted online via the Planning Portal website) including:
  1. Existing and proposed elevations (e.g. at a scale of 1:50 or 1:100)
  2. Advertisement drawing(s) (e.g. at a scale of 1:50 or 1:100) (showing advertisement size, siting, materials and colours to be used, height above ground, extent of projection and details of the method and colour(s) of illumination [if applicable])
  • The appropriate fee

The Council may also require that one or more of the documents set out in the following "Local Requirements" should be submitted before it can validate and register the application:

  • Lighting assessment (where illuminated advertisements are proposed)
  • Photographs and photomontages
  • Planning Statement
