Planning affects everyone, making policies setting out visions for places and decisions about matters ranging from the location of major new transport or energy facilities and employment development, through to the development of new shops, schools, dwellings or parks required to meet the needs of the local community.
A number of policies in the UDP expired on 20 July 2009. The remaining policies continue to be saved as part of the development plan.
The Local Development Framework (LDF) is the name given to the portfolio of local development documents (LDDs) which will provide the main planning framework for the Borough.
Bromley’s latest UDP was ‘adopted’ on 20 July 2006. The policies contained within the UDP are 'saved' for three years, until 2009 and are part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) until then.
