Local Development Framework (LDF)
The LDF is the name given to the portfolio of local development documents (LDDs) which will provide the main planning framework for the Borough.
The terms LDF and LDD are introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, which came into force in September 2004.
It is the Government's intention that LDDs will progressively replace the development plan for the Borough, the Unitary Development Plan (UDP)
Following the adoption of the UDP (July 2006), the policies are 'saved' The LDDs in the LDF will gradually replace the UDP and other supplementary planning guidance as the main source of planning policy and advice.
Public consultations on all future LDDs will take place through the LDF consultation portal
The consultation on the Core Strategy Issues Document closed at the start of October, copies of the document remain available through the local libraries and for downloading through the LDF consultation portal
The Council has already adopted several Development Plan Documents:

- Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document
- Bromley Town Centre Area Action Plan
- Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document
- Bromley Annual Monitoring Report and Five Year Housing Supply
