main content A guide to the Unitary Development Plan (UDP)

Bromley’s latest UDP was ‘adopted’ on 20 July 2006. The policies contained within the UDP are 'saved' for three years, until 2009 and are part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) until then. This means that the UDP will continue to be the statutory planning document for development control purposes, but as individual elements of the LDF are prepared and adopted, these will replace the 'saved ' UDP.

Details

There were six stages to the review process of the UDP which started in 1997 and finished with its adoption in 2006. The adopted UDP written statement can be viewed on-line, in all of the borough’s libraries and the Civic Centre.

An interactive version of the proposals maps relating to the adopted UDP is also available to view on-line. The maps show if there are any designations applying to a site and the supporting policy text of the adopted UDP Written Statement. Please note that in all cases, whether a site is subject to a designation or not, numerous other policies not associated with specific designations will also be relevant to the consideration of planning applications associated with the land or buildings. These can be found in the appropriate chapters of the adopted UDP Written Statement.

A3 printed copies of the UDP proposals map relating to the adopted UDP are available for £20.00 (including postage and packing). A copy of the written statement is also available for £15.00 (£10.00 if a resident of the borough) including postage and packaging. Please contact us to place an order.
