main content Disposing of bulky items

If you need to dispose of bulky items, why not consider donating them to charity? You can also dispose of them at our reuse and recycling centres, for which you will need a permit.

If you cannot do this, you can use our chargeable disposal service.

Details

Collections can be booked over the telephone or online.

There is a minimum charge of £25.

The cost will depend on the number and type of items, and a full list of costs is available when you book. You can contact us to arrange a Waste Advisor’s visit for a no-obligation estimate.

If you are in receipt of council tax or housing benefits, a concession is available; proof of eligibility is required.

Once we have received payment, our contractor will contact you to agree a date for collection, which will be within 10 working days. Items should be made available for collection between the hours of 7am and 3.30pm.

You can pay by cash, cheque or debit/credit card, either by telephone or on-line. If you need a VAT receipt, please ask us. If you pay by credit or debit card you need to make a note of both your unique booking reference and your payment reference.

Book On-Line

Call us or use our on-line service to arrange a collection or request an estimate:

You can check the progress of your request by selecting "check collection status" and typing in your unique booking reference. This will show the date allocated for your collection or for a visit from a Waste Advisor for a quotation.

Items are removed from outside your property only. Neither the Council nor its contractors accept liability for damage to property during removal of items. Collections are carried out at the resident's own risk. Booking a collection constitutes acceptance of this condition.

For hazardous waste disposal, contact us.  We do not accept sun beds with UV fluorescent lamps.
