We provide a payable fortnightly collection service for green garden waste. We take your waste to a local farm, where it is recycled into compost. Please contact us for further details if you want to book this service.

Details

You will need to attach a sticker to your bag to indicate that it is green garden waste. Each sticker costs £1, and they are available from libraries and the civic centre.

To book the service, call the freephone hotline Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm. You can also book by e-mail: vesukgardenwaste@veolia.co.uk. Remember to include your full name, address and postcode, and the number of sacks you want us to collect. If the amount changes on the day, we will still collect them all providing each sack has a sticker attached.

We will tell you when your collection will be made and give you a booking reference number. Place the garden waste in a standard size sack (not exceeding 20kg - easy enough for the average person to carry). Please follow the rules below:

We can compost:

Grass cuttings
Leaves
Prunings
Hedge trimmings

We cannot accept:

Rubble
Soil
Food or household waste
Plastic and flower pots

On the day of the collection:

Place the sticker on your sack
Place your sack by 7am at the front edge of your property nearest to the road in a visible location for our collection crews

As we need to pick up the sack, it must be strong enough to hold together when lifted but light enough to be carried by the average person.
