The South East London Poppy Appeal Launch

Official launch event for South East London marking the start of our national Remembrance period.

There will be lots going on throughout the day and it will start with a formal ceremony at 11:00 where the mayor will be in attendance.

There will also be performances from the Military Wives Choir, The Kentones, Valley Primary School’s Brass Band and readings given from local residents.

We will also be having the Bromley Cadets collecting during the day, a Royal British Legion stand and a re-enactment group who will be speaking about life during WW1.

The Meccano Show returns to Eltham United Reformed Church for its 39th year!

Discover working models of cars, cranes, trains, funfair rides and more, all built from Meccano, the famous construction toy invented by Frank Hornby in 1901.

Invent and build your own model in our Make It With Meccano workshop, then enter it into our Meccano Creative Challenge for the chance to win a prize. Buy parts from our dealers and win prizes in our raffle. It's a great day out for all the family, and free for accompanied kids!

Hot and cold food and drink available to purchase along with glow items.

Face painting and DJ until 23:00.

Beckenham Fireworks in the Park

The annual Beckenham Fireworks event in Croydon Road Recreation Ground ( Beckenham Rec) with funfair, food stalls and face painting.

The event includes a quiet fireworks before the main event - which will still have all the usual bangs and music.

Gates open 5pm
Quiet fireworks 6pm (no bangs for younger children)
Normal fireworks 7.45pm

No advance sales

Primary and preschool children – free (must be accompanied)
Children (11+) – £5
Adults (18+)– £1
Family ticket – £20 (2 adults 2 children (11+) or 1 adult and 3 children (11+))

We will have an entrance in Croydon Road and another in Village Way in Beckenham.

No pets, alcohol, sparklers or fireworks may be brought into the event. 

This event raises money for local charities.

Learn to create gifts and decorations for Christmas using new and vintage fabrics, ribbons, buttons and beads. Use techniques such as applique, simple patchwork, embroidery and decoration.
