The Council wants to reduce the number of empty properties in the Borough and operates a variety of schemes to help achieve this.

Bromley Council also runs a Direct Let scheme to assist landlords with finding tenants for their empty properties.
The Council have a number of interest free loans and grants available to owners of long term empty properties to assist them to bring the properties back into use. If a grant is awarded then it is on the understanding that the owner will provide the accommodation to tenants from the housing register and housing associations for a period of 5 years.
