We are keen to reduce the number of empty properties in the Borough. If you own an empty property, contact us and we may be able to help you bring it back into use.

Details

Empty properties are often unsightly and can attract rubbish and squatters. The owners of such houses have a duty to ensure that the property is secure and does not harbour vermin.

Schemes are available for owners of empty properties, which are aimed at bringing the properties back into use to provide homes for people who really need them. In return for grants to improve the property, a housing association may let and manage the property for a minimum period of five years.
