main content White Goods

All white goods use differing amounts of electricity and some are more efficient than others. To help you to see how much energy an appliance will use, the European Union has designed an Energy Label.

‘A++’ rated appliances are the most efficient and ‘G’ the least efficient. The label also shows the electricity consumption of the appliance in units (kWh) under standard test conditions.

The label must, by law, be shown on all fridges, freezers, fridge-freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers, washer dryers, dishwashers and lightbulb packaging.

How much electricity are your white goods using? How much are they costing you and the environment?

The next time you have to replace an appliance why not buy a new energy efficient model – it will save you money in the long run and it will help the environment.
