Insulation Discount Schemes - Energy Suppliers
To claim special offers on loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, appliances and lightbulbs, call your energy supplier.
Eligibility
All customers can take advantage of the special offers. However, those in receipt of certain benefits, or aged 70 or over, may be eligible for a 100% grant.
Details
The Carbon Emission Reduction Target (CERT) places an obligation on suppliers to achieve energy efficiency improvements in households across the country. The suppliers with a CERT target are listed below;
British Gas
EDF Energy (Including London Energy, Seeboard and SWEB) Npower
EON Energy Scottish and SouthernScottish Power
The main types of measure available are insulation, lighting, and appliances.
In addition to helping consumers to use less energy, reduce their fuel costs and enjoy greater comfort, the energy-efficiency measures stimulated through the CERT, contribute to lower carbon emissions and to achieving the UK’s Climate Change Programme.
Costs
The cost of energy-efficiency measures varies between suppliers. Some suppliers can offer energy-efficiency measures to any domestic consumer (you do not have to be a customer to benefit from the discounts and grants), so shop around between suppliers to get the best deals.
If you qualify for a grant, you will not have to pay towards the cost of the measures carried out.
