Supporting people charging policy
Services can be provided both long term and short term. Short term supporting people services are provided free as they are intended to help individuals live independently. Charges are only applicable to people in long term services who can afford to pay following a financial assessment.
People in receipt of housing benefit receive a free service because the supporting people funding paid by the Council was previously paid as housing benefit.
If you are on a low income then you may be able to get help with charges by applying for a fairer charging assessment.
