Children and family centres

Children and Family Centres have been established across the borough in the last few years.  They bring together all the different support agencies to offer a wide range of free services to meet the needs of children under five and their parents/carers, all in one place.

Details

Children and Family Centres are places where children can make friends and learn as they play.  Parents/carers can access professional advice on health and family matters, learn about training and job opportunities or just socialise with other people.  Children and Family Centres are being developed in line with the needs of local communities so no two centres will be the same.

Each of these centres is different and offers services specific to the needs of the local community. The Phoenix is a specialist centre and serves those families in the borough that have a child with a special need or disability.
