Conservation volunteering
There are lots of different ways you can get involved in protecting and enhancing Bromley's biodiversity and countryside.
As a volunteer you can become involved with a wide range of practical conservation activities, public events and it is a great way to meet people.

Friends of parks
Friends groups are made up of volunteers who organise conservation activities in local parks. It is free and easy to join a Friends group or to start one up from scratch.
River Keepers
Since February 2011, the Council has funded a volunteer conservation project along the River Cray in St Mary Cray, which is being delivered by Thames21, an environmental charity working with volunteers to clean up waterside grot-spots, remove graffiti and create new habitats for wildlife. The weekly work sessions are open to all and led by an expert from Thames21 who provides all equipment and training. Activities undertaken include litter picks and debris removal, channel clearance, environmental walks, vegetation management and clearance, pond strandline clearance, willow coppicing, bank clearance, habitat improvements and other light river maintenance tasks. To find out more please visit the Thames21 website or call them on 020 7248 7171
