Safer Bromley Trader Register
The Trader Register has been set up by the Safer Bromley Partnership to help consumers, who are in need of home improvements, identify a suitable local trader. Those registered have made a commitment to excellent standards of work and customer service.
The Trader Register allows those traders who take pride in doing a fair job at a fair price to be seen as different.
Details
The register can be accessed by visiting www.traderregister.org.uk. All consumers need to do is enter a postcode and select the category of home improvement trader required.
The register is growing all the time, so if the search returns no trader details please come back in a couple of months.
How traders can join the register
The register is free for well run trustworthy local businesses to join and the Safer Bromley Partnership will promote the service across the borough.
Local traders who would like to be considered for the scheme should visit www.traderregister.org.uk where they can apply online. Those without access to the internet can call us for an application pack.
To join, traders must complete an application with their contact details and name three referees, one of whom will be visited by the Council's Trading Standards team. Only once references have been checked and work deemed satisfactory will the trader be accepted onto the scheme.
Further information
The Trader Register is not an approval scheme as such, but should provide reassurance to residents when engaging one of these businesses that they have made a commitment to work to Trading Standard's best practice guidelines and will strive to offer excellent customer service.
