The Sanctuary scheme allows families to remain in the familiar environment of their home whilst they are experiencing the problems that arise as a result of domestic violence.
The scheme provides professionally installed security measures to allow families to remain in their own accommodation. This can include changing locks, additional door or window security, peepholes or fireproof letter boxes; and each property is individually assessed to provide the best solutions. The scheme is available free to any Bromley resident who has experienced domestic abuse, regardless of their tenancy or if they own their property.
This prevents homelessness and also upheaval and disruption to family life caused by moving into temporary accommodation or a refuge away from family or support networks.
If you are threatened with homelessness due to domestic violence then please contact the Housing Options Team who will be able to assist you. If you would like further information about the sanctuary scheme then please contact Victim Support.
