Walking in Bromley

Explore Bromley's countryside and the network of walking routes, with over 120 miles of public rights of way. You can enjoy over 30 square miles of Green Belt countryside and over 2,900 acres of council-owned parks and open space.

Walks

Discover Bromley's countryside through nature trails and Bromleys Circular walks  or go further afield with The Green Chain Walk (a 40-mile network of footpaths linking the River Thames to Chislehurst Common and Crystal Palace Park), or the London LOOP (a 150-mile walk around 'green' outer London).

Bromley Circular Walks pack has been updated and reprinted into 1 pack. This laminated pack with 14 individual route cards is available from BEECHE at High Elms and libraries at a cost of £7.50. Individual circular walks are available to download. Packs are also available by sending a cheque for £8 (to cover post & packing) made payable to London Borough of Bromley to High Elms.

Walking trail now available - 'Lubbocks Landscape at High Elms' with thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund we have produced a new walking trail giving lots of exciting information about the history of High Elms

Health walks

Bromley hosts a series of regular 'Walking for Health' walks, with fully trained leaders at various locations across the borough. Walks are free of charge, and take place throughout the week. Walkers will be registered and asked to complete a health questionnaire prior to joining.

The Friends of Darrick and Newstead Woods also run a regular health walk and meet at the Cricket pavilion on Tugmutton Common on Wednesdays at 2.00 pm

Enbro (Environment Bromley) provide a year round programme of walks in the Borough of Bromley,  but also throughout Kent, Surrey, Sussex and London.
