There are many activities and organisations to choose from in the local community, however the council does not check them all.  Therefore it is important that parents in particular make appropriate enquiries to ensure that these organisations are safe for their children.  Responsible organisations welcome questions about their activities or events and the safety of their environment. All organisations should have a child protection policy, including guidelines on keeping children safe.
