Bromley Council for Voluntary Youth Services (BCVYS)

Bromley Council for Voluntary Youth Services (BCVYS) was formed to bring together and share the strengths of the many voluntary youth organisations in the London Borough of Bromley.

BCVYS administers a grant scheme on behalf of the borough to distribute funding to voluntary youth organisations operating in Bromley.   

Three categories of grant are available:-

  1. Voluntary Organisation Grant - to help towards funding equipment for youth groups.
  2. Individual/Training Grant - to fund training for leaders or to assist with the cost of overseas educational visits for young people. 
  3. Community Safety Grant - to fund projects that work towards preventing young people becoming involved in anti-social behaviour.

How to apply for a grant

Download, complete and return the application form after reading the eligibility criteria for each of the categories. Application can only be accepted on the current application form.

The Executive Committee meets 4 times a year to consider grant applications.  All applicants will be advised within two weeks of the meeting of the Executive Committee's decision.   Any applications missing the cut-off will be automatically held over until the next Executive Committee meeting.    Please note that funding cannot be awarded retrospectively and all funding has to be spent within the current financial year.

The remaining dates for the meetings in this financial year are:-

19 September 2011 - cut off for applications 5 September 2011

30 November 2011 - cut off for applications 16 November 2011

27 February 2012 - cut off for applications 13 February 2012

BCVYS is managed on a day to day basis by an elected committee and governed by its Trustees and its constitution.
