Connexions, which used to provide information and advice services for young people  is no longer operating in Bromley.

Where to get careers information and advice

All young people can now obtain careers advice and information from Directgov and can talk directly with a careers adviser using the phone and call back service.  You can contact a careers adviser through Directgov or   telephone 0800 100 900.

Young people can search online for post 16 courses by visiting UCAS Progress. There is also a Bromley 16-19 directory of courses.

Young people aged 19 or over (aged 18 or over for those on Job Seekers allowance) can also access the Next Step Adult Careers Service.  This service offers face to face, telephone and on-line careers advice.  Go to the Next Step website or telephone 0800 100 900.

Young people can also obtain careers information and advice from their school or college.

For some young people with learning difficulties and /or disabilities who are leaving school, a Transition Support Worker will be able to provide additional advice and practical help with planning for further education, training and employment.  This can be arranged by the school where necessary.

If a young person is not in employment, education or training or has significant problems in their life that means they are at a high risk of becoming unemployed The Bromley Targeted Youth Support Programme can provide some additional support.
