Recycling Course (KS2)*

This course studies human recycling as well as the naturally occurring recycling that goes on all year in the woodland.

Description

We look at some of the issues surrounding the recycling of human waste products such as glass, paper, plastic, composting.... this is an informative and packed visit giving a good introduction to the world of recycling.

Areas covered

  • discussion of the variety of human recycling methods
  • awareness activities to look at natural woodland recycling
  • a chance to collect the invertebrates involved (The Munch Bunch)
  • a closer look at the "Munch-Bunch" inside
  • demonstration of composting methods
  • then either:
    Making recycled paper, making models out of rubbish or look in more detail at rocks and soils

    Could be run as a half day option, without making paper and/or models.  The trip could also be combined with a walk on the Nature Trail.
