Operating a food business - Frequently asked questions

Do I need food hygiene training?

The law requires that food businesses must make sure that food handlers are supervised and instructed and or trained in food hygiene in a way which is appropriate for the work they do.

Those responsible for maintaining and developing the business’s food safety management procedures, which should be based on the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), must have received adequate training to enable them to do this.
