Schools walking the world

The schools walking the world interactive website promotes different ways to travel, healthy lifestyles and the environment on a global scale. Rising obesity rates, melting polar ice caps and increased dependency on cars is NOT a local problem but a global one. The website enables schools across the globe to help tackle this growing problem, share ideas and bring together school communities from a variety of backgrounds.

Schools 'earn' world miles when their pupils walk to school. The more children that walk or cycle the further around the world schools can go! The more the miles the school accumulates the further along the world route they will travel. There are 20 destination stops along the way. As the school reaches each destination teachers are able to download a variety of curriculum linked resources.

There is also a 'kids zone' where children can visit the site at home to play games and download activity sheets.
