The following important safety notice has been issued by the manufacturer:
We have identified a problem with two models of Swan washing machine sold between 2010 and 2012.
A small number of these washing machines have failed in use due to a fault with the internal control unit. This can lead to overheating during use and, in some cases there is a small risk of a fire developing. Therefore, we are taking the precautionary step of replacing the control units on all affected items.
What you need to do now
To confirm whether you have an affected model, check the model number displayed on the front of the machine on the rating label, against the affected model numbers listed above.
What you need to do if you have an affected product
If you believe you have an affected machine, stop using the machine and disconnect or switch it off at the wall socket.
How to organise the modification if you have an affected product
Please contact 0800 Repair on the free phone helpline number 0800 888 6124 (Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm) or email productmodifications@0800repair.com
Using your model number we will be able to tell you if your washing machine is affected. If it's not affected, you can carry on using your washing as normal.
If you have one of the affected washing machines we will arrange for a free replacement of the control unit by our repair partner 0800 Repair. The appointment will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes, is free of charge and will take place at a time that is convenient to you.
What if I have sold, given away or disposed of an affected washing machine?
If you have given away an affected washing machine or passed it to somebody else but have the new owner's contact details, please contact us on the phone number or email address above and share with us the new owner's details. We will then contact the owner directly to arrange a free replacement of the control unit by our repair partner 0800 Repair.
