Bromley Palace Park and Civic Centre grounds, Stockwell Close, Bromley BR1.

Bromley Palace Park is situated in the heart of central Bromley. The grounds, which also form part of the Council’s Civc Centre, surround the former Bishop of Rochester’s Palace, a Grade II Listed building dating from 1776 replacing a medieval Palace. The connection with the Bishops of Rochester spans a thousand years or more until the mid-19th century when the Palace and the manor was sold. From 1930 the site was used for various educational institutions until 1982 when it was acquired for use as Bromley Civic Centre.

The Friends of Bromley Town Parks are keen to raise awareness of the grounds and hold regular guided walks throughout the year. http://www.bromleytownparks.org.uk.

Since May 2009, Thyme Out, a three year horticultural project training people with learning disabilities, have the overall care and maintenance of the grounds. The grounds can be accessed via Stockwell Close, Rochester Avenue and Rafford Way.
