Throughout the year guided walks and fun activities for all the family are held in our local nature reserves and open spaces. If you would like to know more or would like to book an event please contact us.
Details
We hold a wide range of activities to encourage you to learn about and enjoy the countryside, appreciate its wildlife and improve your fitness. It includes regular guided walks, talks and events involving local organisations.
The current 'Walks Talks and Events' programme is available from High Elms, Bromley libraries and other council information points; alternatively look at our events diary online. Download the latest walks and talks programme here.
The walks are graded, explained below:
Grade 1 Very easy walk, generally on flatter surfaces
Grade 2 Easy walk in the Countryside with gentle hills, there may be some stiles
Grade 3 Typical country walk with some steeper hills.
Grade 4 Longer walks, more difficult with steep hills
Grade 5 Evening walks
You may bring your dog on a walk, unless otherwise stated, as long as they are well behaved and on a lead.
Please remember paths may be muddy and uneven, so wear suitable footwear, bring waterproof clothing and plenty to drink. In case of bad weather, the leader will always aim to start the walk, although they may need to cancel in the interest of safety.
Some events are suitable for disabled visitors as indicated.
Booking is essential for some activities, please check the details of individual activities for more information.
For information on other regional events visit the BBC's Breathing Places web pages www.bbc.co.uk/breathingplaces.
Cost
There is a charge for some activities. Unless stated, charges are payable on the day, by cash or cheque only (cheques payable to the London Borough of Bromley). Concession are available for children aged 4-16 years and people aged 60+. Children under 4 years are free on all activities.
