What can I borrow?

How long for?

  • 3 weeks: Books, CDs, audio books and special interest DVDs 
  • 3 open days: Feature film videos & DVDs
  • 1 week: CD-ROMs & PlayStation/XBox games, Feature Set DVDs 
  • 12 weeks: In-depth open learning and language courses
  • Renewing your items is easy. Use our online library catalogue to renew your items before they become overdue or contact your local library. 

Costs

  • Loan of books is free!
  • Requesting an item in stock is free!
  • Registered blind or partially-sighted people can borrow CDs and audio books free of charge.
  • Daily fines are levied for any items returned late.
  • Additional charges are made for the renewal or late return of items that have a hire fee.

What else is there for me?

Even if you don't join the library there are plenty of things your library can do for you.

  • Free internet access in all the libraries, even on the Mobile Library vehicle.
  • Free Wi-Fi access in Bromley Central Library
  • What's happening in your library? Lots of regular events for all ages - adults, children and teenagers - including coffee mornings, author book signings, reading groups, storytimes and exhibitions
  • An extensive Reference and Information Service in Bromley Central Library with smaller collections in all the branches
  • The Local Studies and Archives Service is based in Bromley Central Library but all branch libraries have a collection of local history material relating to their area.
