Shortlands is a small library providing a collection of popular fiction and non-fiction for adults, teenagers and children including material from basic and popular up to GCSE level. There is also a selection of videos available to borrow. Local Links - access to a wide range of Council services, including reporting an abandoned vehicle and purchasing Garden Waste Collection stickers, is available here.

Services and Facilities

A programme of regular events and activities including

  • Book Appreciation Group: Group 1 - First Wednesday of the month 10.30 - 11.30am (except August) No vacancies at present; Group 2 -  Mondays - Every four weeks - 6.45 - 7.45 pm - No vacancies at present.
  • Chatterbooks children's book appreciation group: Saturday afternoons once a month
  • Storytime: Saturdays 11.15 - 11.45 am
  • Baby Bounce & Rhyme: Mondays 10.00 - 10.30am (term time only)
  • Stay 'n' Play: Tuesdays 9.45 - 10.45 am (term time only)
  • Computer Club: Fridays 10.30 - 11.45 am
  • Playreading Group - Monday evenings, monthly.  Please contact the library for further information.
