Reading Groups at Libraries
Bromley Libraries support a number of local reading groups and most of our libraries host one. The book appreciation groups are for adults wanting to read something different, meet other readers or look more deeply into particular novels and factual books. There is also a teenage reading group based in Bromley Central Library and Chatterbooks groups for younger children at several libraries. Sets of new and classic titles are available for the groups to borrow, including for those which meet outside of libraries.

Open to anyone who loves reading.
Details
At each meeting the library provides copies of a book that has been previously chosen, which is taken away and read by members of the group and then discussed the following month.
Book Appreciation Groups currently take place at the following libraries:
- Anerley Library: Last Tuesday of the month 2.15 - 3.15 pm
- Beckenham Library:Group 1 - Last Wednesday of the month 6.30 - 7.30 pm; Group 2 (Beckenham Book Addicts) - 2nd Wednesday of the month 6.30 - 7.30 pm (first meeting 14 February 2007)
- Biggin Hill Library: Last Tuesday of the month 7.00 - 8.00pm
- Central Library (Bromley): Group 1 - First Thursday of the month 6.30 - 7.30 pm, Group 2 ("Wilde about Books" - Bromley Libraries' LGBT reading group) - Fourth Thursday of the month 6.30 - 8.00 pm
- Burnt Ash Library: Last Thursday of the month 2.15 -3.15 pm
- Chislehurst Library: Group 1 - Last Monday of the month 6.30 - 7.30pm (no vacancies at present);
Group 2 - Second Monday of the month 6.30 - 7.30pm.
- Hayes Library: Last Thursday of the month 6.30 - 7.30 pm
- Mottingham Library: Last Friday of the month 6.30 - 7.30 pm
- Orpington Library: Group 1 - Second Tuesday of the month 6.30 - 7.30 pm (no vacancies at present);
Group 2 - Last Tuesday of the month 6.30 - 7.30 pm;
Group 3 ("Foreword" - Orpington Library/U3A) - Last Monday of the month 10.30 am - 12.00 noon.
- Penge Library: Second Monday of the month 8.00 - 9.00 pm.
- Petts Wood Library: Third Thursday of the month 6.30 - 7.30 pm
- Shortlands Library: First Wednesday of the month 10.30 - 11.30 am (except August) No vacancies at present
- Southborough Library: First Tuesday of the month 10.30 - 11.30 am
- St Paul's Cray Library: Second Tuesday of the month 10.30 - 11.30 am
- West Wickham Library: Last Monday of the month 2.15 - 3.15 pm
Teenage Reading Groups are held at five libraries.
Chatterbooks groups for children are held at eight libraries.
