Bromley Council’s Children’s Services has been shortlisted for the Best Transformation Team Award by leading public service improvement experts, iESE.

Not-for-profit organisation, iESE, has recognised the council’s team for its exceptional contribution and long-term positive impact through transformation and continuous improvement to safeguard children and young people in the borough.

Councillor Peter Fortune, Executive Member for Children’s Services said: “We are extremely proud of our achievements and improvements made in Children’s Services.  Moving from ‘inadequate’ across all areas to ‘good’ in just 19 months, whilst being judged ‘outstanding’ for leadership, is pretty much unheard of in such a tight timeframe.  Since the inspection we have continued to work with partner organisations to fully embed good practice. We have the ambition to go above and beyond and continue to proactively reflect on how our services can move to excellence in serving children and their families.

“We have established a ‘golden thread’ through all the work we undertake to support, scrutinise and celebrate what we do to ensure the best possible outcomes for each and every child in Bromley.

“I firmly believe Bromley’s Children’s Services team is fully deserving of this accolade and I am keeping my fingers crossed until 4 March when the overall award winners are announced. Whatever happens, we are secure in the knowledge that we are already ‘winning’ the very best outcomes for children and young people in Bromley.”
