A Bromley Council member of staff and Bromley borough resident has been recognised in the New Year honours list.
Jackie Baxter, Bromley Council’s Environment Campaigns Officer has been awarded a Medal of Order of the British Empire in recognition of her work, particularly during the early stages of the pandemic when national ‘lockdown’ restrictions were in place. Jackie worked in a professional and personal capacity to support residents who needed help in a time of unprecedented national challenge.
Ade Adetosoye CBE, Chief Executive said, “The early days of this dreadful pandemic saw the council work as a dedicated team to support residents and much of this work is ongoing. As well as continuing to be a long serving respected member of staff who will always look to give 100 per cent, Jackie’s natural professional enthusiasm came to the fore as we saw first hand Jackie’s determination, alongside colleagues, to support residents. We congratulate Jackie for her selfless commitment and also for going above and beyond in that crucial period.”
As the Council’s Environment Campaigns Officer, Ms Baxter has worked on many different aspects of the council’s environment services. In recent times, Ms Baxter has pioneered work on how the council treats pets found on the highway, particularly cats, that have sadly been found dead on roads in the borough, working to reunite them with their owner families.
